Dr. Randall Smith received his undergraduate education from Auburn University. He completed his medical school education at the University of Alabama. He did his internship at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston, followed by Residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Smith is trained in custom "no-stitch" cataract surgery that can be customized for your visual needs. New technology allows for near and distance vision from an implantable lens with less need for glasses. Out patient cataract surgery usually is done in 15 minutes, and back home within 30 minutes after surgery with little to no discomfort. Dr. Smith was one of the first physicians in the country to use this new lens technology for cataract surgery during his surgical training at the University of Texas.
Dr. Smith completed his VISX and Intralase LASIK certification at the prestigious Duke Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina. He is certified in all laser custom LASIK and PRK on the most sate of the art lasers currently being used.
Dr. Smith has undergone additional training in Blepharoplasty (Eye Lift) and facial rejuvenation techniques using BOTOX and facial fillers such as Juvederm. New advanced techniques can reverse the signs of again with minimally invasive surgery and injections with less down time.
