Tips for good eye care!

  • All patients should have their eyes checked annually, especially if significant refractive errors in glasses exist.
  • All children should be checked prior to kindergarten. If eyes are crossed or patient’s family has severe refractive errors, then they should be seen earlier.
  • Patients wearing contact lens definitely need to be checked at least once a year. Please bring the cases the contacts lenses come out of to the office so the power, base curve, and brand of contacts can be in the chart.
  • Patients with a strong history of retinal detachment, high myopia, glaucoma, or other diseases of the eye may need to be seen more often.

Before coming in for an appointment, please note:

  • Bring a list of all medications that you are taking.
  • Plan on your eyes being dilated, so bring sunglasses and/or an additional driver. Now, we put reverse dilation drops in the eyes at the end of the exam but the lens is still dilated frequently when you leave.
